Proposed Interventions

Intervention #1:  Video Intercom

Each house will have a video intercom connected to the gate intercom. The guest pulls up to the gate in their vehicle and rolls down their window. The guest will face the video intercom and press the house number on the pin pad of the Aspen Heights resident they desire to visit and press “Call.” In that specific house, the video intercom will buzz, as well as send an alert to the resident’s mobile device, and the Aspen Heights resident will answer the intercom, pressing the button to allow them in. For Uber, Taxis, and Lyft, the drivers will receive the number of the clubhouse to be used upon entrance after registering their vehicle, proof of employer, and phone number with the Aspen Heights Clubhouse.

Intervention #2:  Quick Response Code

Aspen Heights will purchase a software that generates one-time QR codes. The QR codes each last for 30 minutes. When residents desire to have a guest over, they log onto the Aspen Heights website with their username and password and select the button called “Send New QR Code to Mobile Device.” This will be a randomly chosen, one-time use QR code that the resident sends via text message to the guest’s device. When the guest pulls up in their vehicle to the gate, they hold the QR code on their mobile up to a QR scanner on the gate which will register the QR code as valid or invalid from the software and open the gate to allow the guest to drive through. For resident and bus entry, these parties will maintain their gate remotes for access. If the driving guest’s mobile device is broken or dead, a friend can receive the code to grant the vehicle entry. Even with non-smart phones, the QR code entry will work, merely by pulling the text up and opening the picture of the QR code to hold up to the Gate QR Scanner. If the guest does not have a cell phone or their mobile device is dead, we request they send the resident or clubhouse an email who will email the one-time QR code back to the guest who will print it out from their computer before driving to Aspen Heights.

For Uber, Taxis, and Lyft:  They are required to register their phone numbers with Aspen Heights in the Clubhouse and show proof of their employer (Uber, Lyft, Checkered Cab, Royal Cab & Limousine, ABC Cab Co, Yellow Cab, or Green Taxi Cab). Each time a rider wants to be picked up from/go to Aspen Heights, the driver is required to call the Aspen Heights Clubhouse to have a one-time QR code texted to their device.

Intervention #3:  House Keypad Code

Each house, rather than each resident, is assigned a numerical code for guest entry into Aspen Heights. The resident and bus remotes will open the gate as they did before. For Uber, Taxis, and Lyft, they must register their vehicle, proof of employer, and their phone number. Once this is complete, they will each be given a code to access the Aspen Heights gate.
